October was National Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, but domestic violence prevention and awareness should not stop on Oct. 31.
Domestic Violence can happen to anyone, and it is present in every community regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, socioeconomic status, religion, or nationality. Domestic Violence is often considered a "family issue" that happens behind closed doors, but it doesn't have to be that way. Be open and honest with your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors.
