The Hawaii Air National Guard completed their first KC-135 Stratotanker hot pit refueling on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, January 6th, 2023. A hot pit refueling is when an aircraft is refueled immediately after landing, while the aircraft keeps one engine running. This form of refueling reduces response time and keeps aircraft ready to complete any mission, anywhere. More
