A C-17 Globemaster III, assigned to the 729th Airlift Squadron, March Joint Air Reserve Base, California, arrives at Naval Air Station Cecil Field, Jacksonville, Florida as part of Exercise Patriot Sands. Vehicles and soldiers with the 314th Military Intelligence Battalion offload the aircraft at the training site. U.S Coast Guard personnel with the U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Security Response team train on loading and securing equipment and response boats onto the C-17 as well as a C-5 Galaxy, from Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. Exercise Patriot Sands is a joint-service exercise coordinated by the Air Force Reserve, designed to integrate first responders from federal, state, local agencies and the military by providing quick response training in the event of a regional emergency or natural disaster.
