The Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Orientation Course is an eight-hour chemical protective suit and mask training course provided to U.S. Air Force basic military training recruits at Joint Base San Antonio-Chapman Training Annex, Texas. Trainees also go through the Mask Confidence Training Facility, where they will apply what they’ve learned during class and gain confidence in their protective gear by being exposed to tear gas. The primary mission of the CBRN Flight is to introduce enlisted and officer accessions to Air Force Force Generation’s initial entry phase and instruct a foundation of modern CBRN passive defense training that delivers agile combat support to Combatant Commanders for future global operations.
